18kt gold antique serpent ring set with ruby and diamonds

Description

Not many people know this but serpent rings were kind of like the “Diana ring” of their time. Prince Albert presented Queen Victoria with a serpent ring in 1839 on their engagement and following this the popularity of the serpent motif in jewellery became very popular.

This serpent ring is set in 18kt yellow gold with a ruby and diamond set into the heads of the serpents. The way in which the serpents are intertwined represents the bond between the person presented with the ring and the person who gives it.
