Pocket watch with movement by Edward Hawksworth of Cork, Ireland

Description

This is something really special. Switzerland, America, the UK : all known for their Timepieces. However this is a certifiable early 1800’s Cork movement in a London case.

The “Roche” family crest is also engraved into the case. The Roche family were an important family in Cork during this period and it is very significant that they have a crest engraved onto this piece.

Edward Hawksworth was a craftsman who worked in Co.Cork during this period. In addition to watch movements he was also known to have made marine navigation equipment. This piece is signed by him and also includes his serial number on the piece : 17299. You can see in the photos the beauty of this piece and it is a very collectable piece of Irish craft history and we dont expect it to be around for very long.
