“Neiman Marcus” is a very old American department store that was founded in 1907. Instead of taking a risk and going into the new found “sugary soda pop” business in the form of “Coca Cola” no less, they decided to go into retail. The joke about “Neiman Marcus” is that it was founded on a bad business decision ! Anyway at least they made some really great jewellery during the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s.
This is a classic art deco ring with baguette shoulders and a large peridot centre. Peridot is one of the few gems which generally is not heated to enhance the colour. It is a beautiful lime green colour. Art deco rings could use these big colourful gems which mirrored the style and ambiance of the time.
The setting is 10% iridium platinum and again this is typical of Art Deco jewellery of American descent.
For an original art deco ring that is colourful and a superb summery dress ring this is the one for you.
