Original 1.39ct Antique cushion cut diamond set in platinum

Description

A classic 4 double-claw setting holds in a beautiful mid 19th century diamond.

The diamond is fully certified by HRD and is stated as 1.39cts, H colour and VVS2 clarity. The standout feature of this diamond is the cut !

A lovely deep stone with chunky facets which maintains a real sleekness. The depth is great in this stone as it gives you sparkle from all angles which you just cannot get with a modern stone. This is also what is called a “free cut”. It was cut by hand and done to the eye of the gem cutter. What proportions maximised visual appeal, this was the main criteria. Being “free cut” there was no prescribed format to follow and as such it is a totally uniquely shaped diamond and a very unusual and special ring.
